Improvisational Bead Embroidery

We will start with a piece of fabric, stiffen it with a piece of paper on the back, and proceed to decorate it while practicing the various basic stitches. We will look at different ways to secure beads to cloth, what beads work well and which ones need fussing with. We will practice several different edge stitches and play with fringes. The class is about process, not product. Each student will have a sampler and a working knowledge of improvisational bead embroidery when we are done.
