In this workshop, students will learn how to fabricate a traditional bezel using the organic shape of sea glass. Techniques covered include: designing, sizing, using a torch, soldering, sawing, filing, setting a bezel, surface treatments, and, of course, safety issues. BYOB: bring your own treasures or choose from flat backed sea glass in class. As usual, there is an emphasis on keeping it low-tech, toxic free, and safe. The materials fee paid to the instructor covers supplies, handouts, and use of tools. Bring a brown-bag lunch to class since break will be abbreviated. Please note that students should not expect to complete the bracelet during class.
