Jeannette has been beading for over 30 years, and has taught beading classes in San Diego for 19 years, as well as teaching nationally for about 12 of those 19 years. Teaching and creating beadwork are two of her life's greatest pleasures and most fulfilling activities:
"Teaching is so rewarding. I love to give each student the same instructions, then see the amazing beaded pieces that evolve. Each is unique and wonderful. I meet the most amazing women throughout my travels. They come from all walks of life, with many different views and talents to share."

"I see many people come into my class with preconceived limitations regarding art and beadwork. I strive to guide them through those limitations through experimentation and play. So many of my students are literally afraid to bust out and create freeform, fun beadwork. By the end of the class session, many thank me for pushing them beyond previous limits. This is the most satisfying aspect of teaching. I continue to push my own creativity and fears about acceptance of my art and try to listen to my instincts when making beaded art or art-to-wear objects."
"I bead almost every day. I bead until I drop most days! There are times when the creativity just doesn't happen. This will last anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks. I get organized, or make my contacts, read, or just live my daily life during these 'dry' spells. I have learned to live with them and work around them. Soon I am inspired again and off I go, beading all day! That is always a welcome time."
Jeannette's beaded art work has been displayed in galleries in San Diego, Del Mar, and La Jolla, CA; Ashland, OR; Santa Fe, NM; and Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Her work has been featured in the gallery section of the March 1998 issue of Beadwork magazine. The October 1998 issue of Jewelry Crafts Magazine has a feature article on Jeannette and her work. The January 1999 Lapidary Journal also published an excellent article on Jeannette and contains one of her projects in the how-to section. Beadwork magazine published an article A Chat with the Beady Eyed Women, Vicki Star & Jeannette Cook in the Fall 1999 issue. In December 1999, Bead & Button magazine published an article on her Freeform Sculptural Peyote Stitch Earrings.
